Gelene J. Altnau, age 72 , 654 Hamburg St, Ripon, died unexpectedly Friday, January 14, 2000, at her home after a short illness.
She was born August 27, 1927, the daughter of John and Ann (Paul) Duzinski. She graduated from Ripon High School, and on August 24, 1946, married Hillary Altnau at Our Saviours United Church of Christ in Ripon. Gelene was employed as a secretary at Speed Queen in Ripon, and was a member of the Ladies Guild at Our Saviors United Church of Christ.
Survivors include; a sister, Gladys (Carlton) Resheske of Ripon; sister-in-law, Evelyn (Arden) Thom of Ripon; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and one sister, Adeline Pufahl.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 16, 2000, at 4:00 p.m., at the Chapel of Our Saviors Church of Christ in Ripon, with Pastor Eric Burnard officiating. Friends may call on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service. Interment will be at Woodlawn cemetery. A memorial has been established.
