George N. Campfield, age 81, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Sunday, September 9, 1956, Germantown, WI, at the home of his daughter, where he had been visiting.
George was born April 12, 1875, in Auroraville, WI, the son of George and Joanne (Tobin) Campfield. He married Lellian Wells in Berlin in 1900. George owned and operated the Hotel and Resturant in Poysippi until 1920, he then owned and operated a grocery store in Berlin, was a salesman for the Russel Grove Company of Berlin and assisted with the Luetke Tobacco Company of Ripon.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Harry Luetke of Ripon, with whom Mr. Campfield resided with for the past 15 years, Mrs. F.W. Mehre of Germantown, WI and Mrs. Carl Grota of Milwaukee; eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; one brother, James of Poysippi, WI and two sisters, Mrs. Nell Tinker of Milwaukee and Mrs. Glen Mosier of Detroit, MI. He was preceded in death by his wife, two brothers and one sister.
Friends may call on Tuesday, September 11, 1956, after 12:00 noon at Butzin Funeral Home in Ripon.
Funeral Service for George will be held on Wednesday, September 12, 1956, at 2:00 pm at Butzin Funeral Home with The Reverend John T. Cullen officiating. Interment will take place at Oakwood Cemetery in Berlin, WI.
