George Warren Collar, 74, of 50 Wolverton Ave., Ripon, died Tuesday, July 12, 1988, at Parkview Nursing Home in Ripon.
He was born June 5, 1914, in Markesan to Charles Manley and Elsie Tolouson Collar. On June 19, 1943, he married Violet Hampel.
Mr. Collar was educated in Markesan. He had lived in the Markesan area all of his life. He was a turntable operator at the Soo Line Railroad and retired in 1981. He was a member of Our Saviours United Church of Christ in Ripon and of the church Ushers Club.
Survivors include his wife, Violet; one son, Darwin of Markesan and one daughter, Mrs. Donald (Sharon) Sauerbrei of Markesan. He was preceded in death by two sisters, one daughter and his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Saturday, July 16, 1988, at Our Saviours United Church of Christ in Ripon. The Reverend Harley C.W. Tretow will officiate and burial will follow in the Markesan Memorial Cemetery in Markesan.
