George Niagroa Hamaishi, age 90, W2958 Orchard Avenue, Green Lake, passed away Thursday evening, March 30, 2006, at Fond du Lac Hospice Home of Hope.
George was born March 8, 1916 in Goshen, New York, a son to Niagroa and Helen (Hadfield) Hamaishi. He was educated at the University of Wisconsin- Madison, and Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois. On August 18, 1951 he married Shirley Elaine Fredrick in Princeton, WI. George was an elementary school teacher and Principal. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church of Ripon.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Hamaishi, Green Lake; 2 daughters, Sally (Mike) Winger, Lombard, IL., and Betsy Morris, Glendale Heights, IL; and 2 grandchildren, Krista Winger and Justin Winger both of Lombard, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a son-in-law, Mark Morris.
Funeral services for George Niagroa Hamaishi will be held Saturday, April 1, 2006 at 2:30 p.m., at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ripon with Pastor Alan F. Schaffmeyer officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., on Saturday, April 1, 2006 at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church. Interment will follow in Dartford Cemetery in the City of Green Lake. A memorial has been established to Hospice Home of Hope, 400 County K, Fond du Lac, WI. 54937.
