George A. Jung, age 46, passed away on Monday, December 28, 2009, at his home in Ripon.
George was born on November 17, 1963, the son of Quirin E. and June I. (Moseley) Jung in Ripon, WI. George attended Ripon Public Schools. He was a member of the Ripon community all his life, from his school days through his time at Piggly Wiggly, to his work at the Ripon Service Center and finally Diverse Options. George was also involved in many activities at Diverse Options, Inc. He was a member of the Employee Council, an annual volunteer at the company’s charitable golf outing and was always ready to assist when help was needed anywhere. He was very proud of his work and people were proud of what he did. George began his career at Diverse Options, Inc. in Ripon on June 7, 1982. He was employed as a machine operator and assembler in the company’s wood manufacturing division. When that division of the company closed in 2000, George transferred to the production center as a material packager and handler. He was also a member of the maintenance crew at Diverse Options, Inc. and worked many years as a stockperson at the Piggly Wiggly store in Ripon. George was known for the high quality of his work and attention to detail in all of his job duties whether working at Diverse Option, Inc. or the community. George was the president of the Kiwanis Aktion Club of Ripon was very involved in the fundraising and community service activities involved with the Aktion Club.
George was a gentle giant, always willing to help those around him, to carry his weight for the team. He also enjoyed to barbeque for friends and visitors, and was loved by all those who got to know him. George enjoyed spending time with his special friend Megan, with his many friends in the community, and his special friends at Pick N Save and Alibi’s in Ripon. He will be missed by his family, and his many friends in the community. We hope that his new life will include lots of miniature golf, games of Uno and his favorite episodes of Seventh Heaven.
Survivors include two sisters, Kathy (Rob) Holman of Corvallis, OR, and Mary Jung of Laramie, WY; and one brother, David Jung of Fond du Lac, WI; one niece, Nina
Adams of Laramie, WY; and two nephews, Aidan Adams of Laramie, WY and Sean Holman of West Lafayette, IN. George was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother James Edward Jung.
Visitation for George A. Jung will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2009, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, and again on Thursday, December 31, 2009, from 10-11:00 a.m. at Immanuel United Methodist Church in Ripon.
Funeral service for George A. Jung will be held on Thursday, December 31, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel United Methodist Church in Ripon, with Reverend Paul Nulton officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ripon. Memorials may be given to Diverse Options, 571 Fenton St. Ripon, WI 54971.
