George Arthur Kohls, 74, of Ripon, died Sunday morning May 3, 1998, at Parkview Care Center, in Ripon.
He was born on January 31, 1924, in Curtiss, WI the son of
Herman and Ida (Kiesow) Kohls. George graduated from
Rosendale High School, and worked for the Fond du Lac County
Highway Department for 33 years, retiring in 1986. On March
2, 1944, he married Doris Johnson, living most of their life
in the Ripon and Rosendale area.
Survivors include his wife, Doris of Ripon, and eight children, Mary (Frederick) Portz of Phoenix, AZ, David (Diane) Kohls of Rosendale, WI, Jean (Robert) Bahn of Berlin, WI, Joan Kohls of Weslaco, TX, Luann (Lee) Potratz of Bellville, WI, Susan (Steven) Peachy of Rosendale, WI, Nancy (Robert) Fowler of Bloomingdale, IL, Kathleen Kohls of Brighton, CO. Two sisters Rachel (Leonard) Dornbrook of Fond du Lac, WI, Josephine Medicke of Neillsville, WI. Further survived by nineteen grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. Proceeded in death by his parents, brother Kenneth, and grandson Christopher Kohls.
A Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 1998, at
2:00 PM at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon. The
Reverend James D. Mohr officiating. There will be no
visitation prior to the time of service. Inurnment will take
place at a later date.
Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
