George Nowinski

March 22, 1926 — May 9, 1990

George Paul Nowinski, age 64, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Wednesday, May 9, 1990, at Ripon Memorial Hospital.

He was born March 22, 1926, in Ripon, a son of Walter and Mary (Zwolski) Nowinski. On October 4, 1952, he married Elaine Polcyn at St Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Ripon. Mr. Nowinski was educated in Ripon. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He had been employed at Speed Queen in Ripon for 44 years in Quality Control and had lived in Ripon all his life. Mr. Nowinski was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Ripon and was an usher. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5278, a member of the Speed Queen 25 year club and the United Steel Workers of America #1327.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Diane at home; one sister, Helen Nowinski of Ripon; four brothers, Stanley (Hazel) of Union Grove, Alex (Jeanette) of Shawano, and Harry and Peter both of Ripon. Preceding him in death were his parents and four brothers.

Friends may call Friday, May 11, 1990, from 4 until 8:00 p.m. at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon where a Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. and a V.F.W. Service will be conducted at 8:00 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, May 12, 1990, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church with the Reverend William Toelle officiating. Interment will follow in St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery, Town of Ripon. Memorials to St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church will be appreciated.
