George H. Schave, age 80, of Oshkosh, WI, passed away on Friday, December 10, 1993, at Bethel Home in Oshkosh.
He was born on March 29, 1913, in Ripon, the son of the late Henry and Anna (Teetz) Schave. He was educated in Ripon. He then served in the U.S. Army from 1942 until 1945. On December 9, 1972, George married Lucille Hess Kallas and they have made their home in the Eureka area the last 21 years. Until his retirement, George had been at Wisconsin Power and Light Company in Ripon for 26 years. He was member of the Wisconsin Power and Light Pioneer Club and of the Ripon VFW #5278.
In addition to his wife, Lucille, he is survived by one son, Thomas (Nancy) Schave of Waupun; three daughters, Georgine Mill of Ripon, Joan (Robert) Mathia of Ripon and Judith (James) Goyette of Oshkosh; 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Edna Zasada of Fond du Lac and Ann Reese of Florida; one step-son, Richard (Dianne) Kallas of Waukau; four step-daughters, Sharon (Joe) Erickson of Green Lake, Dawn (Sal) Caldrone of Lake Zurich, IL, Kathleen (Ken) Schaele of Oshkosh, and Kandy (Owen) Sonnenberg of Neenah; twelve step- grandchildren; and seven-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Martha Linetty Schave, three brothers, and three sisters.
Funeral services for George Schave will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 13, 1993, at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon. The Reverend David Rumbold will officiate. Interment will be in St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery, Town of Ripon. Family and friends may call Sunday from 2:00 until 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A VFW service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday. A memorial has been established.
