Georgia Miller Castro, 71, of Green Lake, passed away at her home, in Green Lake, on November 7, 2000.
Georgia was born on January 29, 1929, in Ripon, the daughter of Don G. and Frances (Oeder) Miller. She graduated from Ripon High School and the Secretarial School of Milwaukee. After her schooling she worked as a secretary for The Arabian American Oil Company in Saudi Arabia where she lived for 23 years. After returning to the United States, she lived in her home on Spring Grove Road, Green Lake. She married Louis Amezcua Castro on August 19, 1954 in Nicosia, Cyprus. Georgia was a member of the First Congregational Church in Ripon, DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution), and the Eastern Star.
Survivors include two daughters, Carol (Steve) Marriott and grandchildren Megan, Michael, Melinda Marriott of Manassas, VA, and Ellen Castro of Madison; two sons, Craig Castro of Mozambique, Africa, and Bruce Castro of Minneapolis, MN. Georgia was preceded in death by her husband Louis, her parents, and two brothers, James and Don Miller, Jr. A memorial has been established in her name.
Funeral services for Georgia will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2000 at 11:00 AM at the First Congregational Church in Ripon with Rev. Debora Hillgartner officiating. Friends may call Saturday at the church from 10:00-10:45 AM at which time an Eastern Star Service will be held with the funeral to follow. Burial will be in Dartford Cemetery, Green Lake, WI.
