Gerald Brady, Sr.

Gerald “Jerry” Joseph Brady Sr., age 77, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2012, at his home after a lingering illness.
Jerry was born April 13, 1934, in Chicago, IL, the son of Phillip Joseph and Annette Marie (Horjsch) Brady. He graduated from De La Salle High School in Chicago and St. Mary’s College in Winona, MN and received his MBA at Du Paul University. He served our country in the United States Army from October 29, 1956 to October 17, 1958, as a sharpshooter and received a Good Conduct Medal Jerry lived in Ripon for several years since his retirement in 2005 from IBC Group Inc., where he had served since 1991 as Vice President and CFO and later as an executive Vice President to Leon Ellman, Chairman of the IBC Group Inc. A respected veteran in the Bedding Industry, Jerry had previously worked for Sealy, Inc. as a Vice President and later Treasurer. He also held various executive positions with Stearns and Foster and Lifetime Foam Products Inc., a subsidiary of Sear’s Roebuck Co. In 1988, Jerry married Vickie Peck in Cleveland, OH. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Vincent DePaul Society, Alumni of St. Mary’s College and an avid Notre Dame fan.
Survivors include his wife, Vickie of Ripon, WI; daughter, Carol Ann Brady - (Danny) Henderson of Strongsville, OH; son, Jerry Brady Jr. of Ripon, WI. Jeffrey (Lori) Peck of Manheim, PA and Kimberley Peck (Keith) Kulacz of Deerfield Beach, FL. Grandchildren, Libby Peck, Karis, Asher and Sammy from Miami Kulacz and further survived by nieces and nephews in the Larson, Szydelko and Simon family. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Flo Szydelko and Maureen J. Brady; mother and father-in-law, Lawrence and Maxine Simon and brother-in-law, Michael A. Kosmak.
Visitation for Gerald Brady will be held Friday, March 2, 2012, from 4 – 7:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971 and again on Saturday, March 3, 2012, from 9:30 – 10:30 am at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 415 E. Fond du Lac St., Ripon, WI 54971.
Mass of Christian Burial for Gerald Brady will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2012, at 10:30 am at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Ripon. Reverend Robert A. Fictum will officiate. Interment will follow at Green Lake Center Cemetery in the Town of Green Lake with Full Military Honors. Memorials may be directed to St. Vincent De Paul Society, 573 West Rolling Meadows Dr., Fond du Lac, WI 54937.
