Gerald L. Schwandt, age 64, of Ripon, died Saturday afternoon, January 26, 2002, under Hospice Care with his family at his side.
He was born March 14, 1937, in Ripon, a son to Lester L. and Ruby (Hahn) Schwandt. He received his education in Ripon. On January 7, 1956, he married Barbara Van Horn in Ripon. Jerry had worked at Speed Queen for 39 years. Jerry loved fishing, deer and duck hunting, and Fawn, his dog.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Barbara; two sons, Randy (Sherry A.) Schwandt of Berlin, and Ricky (Brenda Cowley) Schwandt of Ripon; one daughter, Renee (David) Dolske of Ripon; grandchildren, Rachael and Angela Schwandt of Ripon, Michelle Schwandt of LaCrosse, Zachary Schwandt of Green Lake, Jed Dolske of Milwaukee, and Nathan Dolske of Ripon; three step-granddaughters, Sara, Katie & Ally D'Amico of Berlin; brother, Les (Doris) Schwandt of Ripon; sister, Carolyn (Walter "Jr") Plagenz of Markesan; and nephews, nieces and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Les and Ruby Schwandt; grandson, Jared Schwandt; in-laws, Ronnie and Blondie Duntman and H.F. Van Horn.
The family will receive friends Saturday, February 2, 2002, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon. Private family memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. with Rev. Rebecca A. Johnston officiating. A memorial has been established.
