Geraldine Ehrenberg

Geraldine “Geri” Lavina Ehrenberg, age 85, of Ripon passed away on Tuesday September 11, 2007 at Fountain View Care Center, Ripon.

Geri was born on the family farm one mile north of Pickett on County Highway M in the Town of Utica, Winnebago County, to Herman and Lavina (Lyon) Ehrenberg on October 31, 1921. She attended Elo School, a one room school in the Town of Utica, and went on to Oshkosh High School. Geri was member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Pickett where she was baptized and confirmed and was a Sunday School teacher. She worked in the Pickett cannery for several seasons, and moved to Ripon with her parents in 1949. Geri started working for Ripon Knitting Works as an industrial seamstress and in 1970 the company moved to Waupun and changed its name to Medalist-Sand Knit. She retired from there after 40 years of service. Geri enjoyed traveling, shopping and volunteer work, she loved to sew, embroidery, crochet and working on plastic canvas.

Survivors include a special great nephew, Michael (Carol) Ehrenberg and his children; Chad and Megan of Green Lake, nephews and nieces; Larry (Sally) Ehrenberg of Green lake, Alan (Sandy) Ehrenberg of Oshkosh, Sylvia (Gordon) Anderson of Ripon, and Ardice Seabrook. Great nieces and nephews, sister-in-law Letha Ehrenberg, cousins and friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by 3 brothers; Richard, Bernard and Ray, and cousins and friends.

Visitation for Geraldine “Geri” Ehrenberg will be held on Friday, September 14, 2007 from 10-11:00 am at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Pickett.

Funeral Services for Geraldine “Geri” Ehrenberg will be held on Friday, September 14, 2007 at 11:00 am at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Pickett with Pastor Russell W. Kloehn officiating. Interment will follow in Liberty Prairie Cemetery, Pickett. A memorial has been established in her name.
