Geraldine P. Klingbeil, age 83, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Thursday, February 21, 2013, at her home.
Geraldine was born on March 16, 1929, in the Town of Metomen, the daughter of Herbert and Vida (Wetzel) Liptow. She graduated from Ripon High School and Berlin County Normal College. On June 17, 1950, Geraldine married Glendale “Bud” Klingbeil in Ripon. She worked as a teacher, 33 years at Ripon Foods and farmed with her husband her entire life. In her earlier years, Geraldine and her husband enjoyed boating and motorcycling and were members of the Retreads Motorcycle Club, North Central Region. She also enjoyed gardening and flowers, bird watching, her pets and most dearly her family. Geraldine was a very active member of Immanuel United Methodist Church in Ripon. She was a secretary of the Merry Friends Circle “Girl Circle”, Town of Nepeuskun and volunteered at Maplecrest Manor. Geraldine was very active; she enjoyed having lunch frequently with her friends.
Survivors include four daughters, Beth (Tim) Oestreich of Oshkosh, WI, Bonnie (John) Berndt of Ripon, WI, Diane (Tom) Polakowski of Ripon, WI and Peggy (Mitchell) Springer of Montello, WI; eight grandchildren, Jennifer (fiancé, Steve Mulderink) Oestreich of Fox Lake, IL, Dan (Katie) Oestreich of Oshkosh, WI, Jill (Mike) Schmudlach of Ripon, WI, Brad (Tonia) Larschied of Ripon, WI, Shane (Shannon) Polakowski of Oshkosh, WI, Tyler Polakowski of Ripon, WI, Kurt Meehan of Ripon, WI and Russell (Amy) Meehan of Stevens Point, WI; three step-grandchildren, Pam (Dave) Barberi of Prattville, AL, Missy (Josh) Huisman of Oshkosh, WI and Angie (Jeremy) Jensen of Ripon, WI; twelve great-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren and two sisters, Dolly Theune and Lois Jawor both of Ripon, WI. Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Glendale and grandson, Brian Meehan.
Visitation for Geraldine will be held on Sunday, February 24, 2013, from 1 – 4:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971 and again on Monday, February 25, 2013, from 10 – 11:00 am at Immanuel United Methodist Church, 401 W. Fond du Lac St., Ripon, WI 54971.
Funeral service for Geraldine will be held on Monday, February 25, 2013, at 11:00 am at Immanuel United Methodist Church, 401 W. Fond du Lac St., Ripon, WI 54971. Pastor Joshua Pegram will officiate. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Ripon. A memorial is being established.
