Gerda Ingeborg Thiele, age 93, formerly of Ripon and currently of Plover, died Thursday morning, December 26, 2002, at St. Michael’s Hospital in Stevens Point.
She was born March 30, 1909, in Berlin, Germany, the daughter of Max and Margaret (Schuh) Krause. She was educated in Berlin and Cologne, Germany. Gerda lived in Ripon since 1944, and had been a lab technician at Triarch Inc. for 20 years. She was a member of the First Congregational Church and the Ripon Science Club.
Survivors include 2 sons, Richard Neisius of Napa, CA and Robert Thiele of New York City and Miami, FL; 2 daughters, Susan (Steven) Donnell of Ellicott City, MD and Margaret (James) Gast of Plover, WI; 7 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 30, 2002, at the First Congregational Church with Rev. T. Gregory Turner officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 4-7 p.m. at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, and again ½ hour prior to the church service. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ripon. In lieu of flowers, a memorial to the church has been established.
