Mrs. Gerry Owens, 62, of 116 S. Main St., Rosendale, died Tuesday, November 15, 1988, at Ripon Memorial Hospital.
She was born April 25, 1926, to Robert and Berna Hoyt Shafer in Fond du Lac. On May 22, 1945, she married Robert D. Owens in Seattle, WA.
Mrs. Owens was a 1944 graduate of Rosendale Union Free High School. She was a housewife and had lived most of her life in the Rosendale area. Mrs. Owens was a member of the Rosendale VFW Auxiliary. She was a protestant by faith.
Survivors include her husband; 4 daughters, Mrs. Judy (David) Konrad and Kathy Owens, both of Oshkosh; Donna Smoody and Mrs. Wendy (Mike) Haseleu, both of Rosendale; 4 sons, Michael (Kathy) Owens of Brandon, Tracy (Carrie) Owens of Ripon, Tony of Kenosha and Rusty at home; 8 grandchildren; her mother, Berna Shafer of Rosendale; 3 sisters, Jane Splittgaber of Brandon, Joyce Pinch of Rosendale and Jeanette Rupnow of Menomonee Falls.
She was preceded in death by her father and 2 brothers, Dean and Robert Shafer.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 6:00 p.m., at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon. The Reverend Gordon Merritt will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Rosendale Cemetery in Rosendale.
Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until the hour of services at the funeral home.
