Gertrude “Gert” Helen Krause, age 92, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2016, at Ripon Medical Center.
Gert was born October 11, 1923, in Ripon, WI, the daughter of Albert and Ida (Roehl) Prellwitz. She attended Ripon schools. On June 5, 1943, Gert married Harold Krause. She was a homemaker and helped on the farm. Gert was a member of Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon.
Survivors include her brother, Lawrence (Irene) Prellwitz of Ripon, WI and many nieces and nephews and her beloved cat, Mitsy. Gert was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Ida; husband, Harold; one sister, Leone Steinke and three brothers, Glen, Albert and Paul.
Visitation for Gertrude will be held on Monday, May 9, 2016, from 9 – 10:00 am at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971.
Funeral Service for Gertrude will be held on Monday, May 9, 2016, at 10:00 am at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon, her nephew Reverend Donald Krause will officiate. Interment will follow at Loper Cemetery in the Town of Ripon. A memorial is being established in her name.
