Gino Zei, age 99, died Monday, December 6, 1999, at Parkview Care Center in Ripon where he has resided the past 12 years.
He was born June 29, 1900, in Ponte Buggianese, Italy, the son of Flavio and Teresa Zei. He attended school in Italy, and on August 13, 1922, he married Corradina Mascani in Italy. They lived in Chicago from 1922-1977 prior to moving to Ripon in 1977. While living in Chicago, Gino was on the assembly line for an auto parts manufacturer.
He is survived by his son, Dino (Joan) Zei of Berlin; 2 granddaughters, Elizabeth Zei of Berlin and Victoria (Michael) Hickey of Hopedale, MA; 1 grandson, David (Somsong) Chiong of Houston, TX; 7 great-grandchildren, Andrew, Angela, Ashley, Joseph, Patrick, Jonathon and Sarah; 1 brother of France; and 3 sisters of Italy. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and 4 brothers.
There will be no visitation. Private family graveside services will be Wednesday, December 8, 1999, at Garden of the Cross Cemetery with the Rev. John Paul Westin officiating.
