Gladys L. Loomans, age 82, of Ripon, died December 25, 1997, at Mercy Medical Center, Oshkosh.
She was born September 20, 1915, in the Town of Rosendale, a daughter to Gustave and Bertha (Gransee) Siebenhaar. She graduated from Rosendale High School. In 1941 she married Hubert W. Schultz. She later married Otto Loomans in 1976. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Oshkosh, and participated in Yarns of Yesteryear and was an award winner, was a writer of short stories and loved to garden. Gladys loved birds and animals, especially her dog Nikki. She was a homemaker and farmer at heart, and had lived in the rural Rosendale area prior to moving to rural Ripon area 20 years ago,
She is survived by I son, Gene (Debra Peerenboom) Schultz of Oshkosh; 2 daughters, Jill Schultz of Ripon and Kim (Robert) Bruss of Oshkosh; and a nephew, Orland Hollander of Madison. She was preceded in death by her husband, Otto Loomans and I daughter, Sheryl Schultz.
Funeral service will be Saturday, December 27, 1997, at 1:00 PM at the
Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon with Pastor John Poffinbarger of
Oshkosh officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 11:30 AM until the time of
the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Rosendale Cemetery,
Rosendale. Memorials to Peace Lutheran Church in Oshkosh and the Tri-Casa
Animal Shelter of Green Lake.
