Gladys (Frank) Polfuss, 100, was born March 8, 1903, in Richford and was called to eternal rest on October 15, 2003, in Ripon.
She married Emil Polfuss on August 23, 1921, and he preceded her in death August 23, 1976. Gladys was a chef at the Hotel Athens and Town House Supper Club in Oshkosh. Gladys was always known for her practical jokes and the love she had for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include 2 sons, Donald Polfuss of Mesa, AZ and Kenneth (Ruth) Polfuss of Appleton; 7 grandchildren, Russall (Karen) Pettibone, Jr. of Oshkosh, Jeffrey (Karen) Polfuss of Wautoma, James (Holly) Polfuss of Appleton, Julie Cummins of Wausau, Kathy (Steve) Dryer of Appleton, Kelly (Barry) Foltz of Neenah, and Keith (Michelle) Polfuss of Appleton; 18 great-grandchildren; 2 sons-in-law, Orville Breivogel of Ripon and Russell Pettibone, Sr. of Oshkosh. Deceased family member are 2 daughters, Dorothy Pettibone and Arvilla Breivogel; 1 son, Herbert Polfuss; 2 brothers, Walter Frank and Raymond Kella; and sister, Ethel Turensky.
Funeral service for Gladys Polfuss will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 18, 2003, at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon with Rev. J. Douglas Hanback officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Gladys will be laid to eternal rest at Lake View Memorial Park in Oshkosh. A memorial has been established.
