Gladys Resheske, age 79, of Ripon, entered eternal rest with God, on Saturday, December 22, 2001. She died peacefully at Open Arms CBRF in Green Lake after a lingering illness.
Gladys was born in rural Ripon, October 19, 1922, a daughter of John and Anna (Paul) Duzinski. She was raised and educated in Ripon and married Gordon F. Gneiser of Green Lake on June 14, 1941. He preceded her in death in 1976. Gladys married Carlton B. Resheske of Ripon on March 10, 1979. She was a popular waitress-bartender at various establishments in the Green Lake/Ripon area. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Green Lake and most recently a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Ripon. Gladys was a caring and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and mother-in-law. She enjoyed caring for her home and family. She had a great love for growing flowers and feeding wild birds.
She will be greatly missed by her husband, Carlton of Ripon; children, Gail Tremore of Waunakee, Georgia (Joel) Schultz of Green Lake, Gary Gneiser of Green Lake and Greta Gneiser of Milwaukee; nine grandchildren, David (Lisa) Tremore of Ripon, Joelle (Craig) Surmanof Baraboo, Ginny Schultz of Green Lake, Melissa Gneiser of Boulder, CO, Sgt. Daniel Tremore, USMC of Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii, Michael Gneiser of Princeton, Rachael Gneiser of Arcata, CA, Randy Gneiser of Green Lake and Alexa Mydlach of Westchester, IL. Great-grandchildren, Jordan Schultz of Baraboo, Nathan and Katherine Tremore of Ripon and Benjamin Wettstein of Green Lake. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Gordon Gneiser, her parents, two sisters, Adeline Pufahl and Gelene Altnau and one granddaughter, Brigett Schultz.
Services will be held Thursday, December 27, 2001, at 11:00 am at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Ripon, with Father John A. Schmitz officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 26, 2001, from 4 7:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon and on Thursday from 10 am until the time of service at the church. Interment will take place at Dartford Cemetery in Green Lake. Memorials may be directed to Hospice Hope/Central WI Branch, 114 N. Pearl St. Berlin, WI 54923.
