Gladys I. Van Alstine, age 88, of Markesan, WI, passed away on Monday, June 15, 1987, at Riverdale Manor in Markesan.
Gladys was born February 8, 1899, in the Town of Pewaukee, WI, the daughter of John and Jane (Chapman) Williams. She worked as a homemaker. Gladys married Leonard H. Van Alstine on September 1, 1921 until his passing on January 5, 1975. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Waukesha and a member of the Waukesha Town Garden Club.
Survivors include one daughter, Joyce (Russell) Schenke of Ripon and one grandson, Scott. She was preceded in death by her husband, two sisters and one brother.
A graveside service for Gladys will take place on Wednesday, June 17, 1987, at 11:30 am at Prairie Home Cemetery in Waukesha with Reverend Thomas Raber officiating.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 1987, at 2:30 pm at First United Methodist Church, 121 Wisconsin Avenue, Waukesha, WI. A memorial has been established for the church.
