Glenn R. Marquart, age 68, formerly of Ripon, passed away Wednesday, December 22, 1993, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Tomah, where he has resided for 15 years.
He was born September 10, 1925, in the town of Marquette, Green Lake County, the son of Vily and Viola (Jahns) Marquart. He married Elizabeth (Betty) Davis on March 10, 1951. He served as a MP in the U.S. Army during World War II. After the war, Glenn owned and operated the Marquart Auto Body Shop in Ripon. Glenn greatly enjoyed racing stock cars and drag racing. He was known for his quality craftsmanship and custom design vehicle painting. In addition to being a member, he also served as lay pastor for the former E.U.B. Church of Ripon.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth of Ripon; two sons, Curtis of Fond du Lac and Ricky of Ripon; three brothers, Lyman and Lloyd, both of Albuquerque, NM and Ronald of Roy, WA; and one sister, Janice Happe of Ripon. He was preceded in death by his parents.
There will be no visitation. Private family services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 24, 1993, at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon. The Reverend Howard Ott will officiate. Cremation will take place and inurnment will be at a later date at the Markesan Memorial Cemetery in Markesan.
