Glenn I. Weishaar, 89, of 1032 Metomen St. Ripon, passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2006 at Ripon Medical Center with his family at his side.
Glenn was born on January 27, 1917 in the Town of Springfield, Marquette County the son of William and Mathilda (Krueger) Weishaar. Glenn was a farmer and milk hauler with his own route until he entered the US Army for World War II, and was a combat engineer serving in the South Pacific Theater from Sept 26, 1942 until his discharge in Dec. 16, 1945. After his discharge from the Army, Glenn returned to farming. On June 9th 1946 he married Tellia Tootie Raatz in Coloma, WI. In May of 1955 they moved to Ripon, where Glenn went to work for the Maintenance Department in the Ripon School District, where he worked for 25 years, before retiring in 1980. He also worked for Grace Lutheran Church for 25 years and retired from there in January 1985. Glenn was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and the Ripon V.F.W. Schultz-Klemp-Wentland Post 5278.
Survivors include his wife, Tootie of Ripon, one daughter, Barbara (Everett) Wood of Vincennes, IN; two grandchildren, Michelle (Tom) Gansman of Greenwood, IN, and Matthew (Melanie) Wood of Pompano Beach, FL, one great-granddaughter, Tellia Jo Gansman; one sister Goldine Weir; two sister-in laws, Mary Raatz, and Louraine Raatz; two brother-in-laws, Clarence Wedde and William Smith and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Geraldine Kloss, Grace Sauer and Gertrude Wedde.
Visitation for Glenn Weishaar will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2006 at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home from 5-7:30 pm with a V.F.W. service to be held at 7:30 pm. There will also be visitation on Friday, October 20, 2006 at Grace Lutheran Church from 10-11:00 am.
Funeral Services for Glenn Weishaar will be held on Friday, October 20, 2006 at 11:00 am at Grace Lutheran Church in Ripon with Pastor Maurice Schaus and Pastor Sandra Krynik officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ripon, with full Military Honors at the graveside. Memorials can be given to Grace Lutheran Church in Glenns name.
