Gordon “Gus” Belmont, age 73, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Sunday, September 1, 1985, at Park Falls, WI.
Gordon was born September 16, 1911, in Ripon, WI, the son of William and Emma (Schoenrock) Belmont. He served our country in the United States Army during WWII in the Southern Pacific Combat as a tail gunner. Gordon married Ruth Chase on December 7, 1946. He worked as a shipping clerk at Speed Queen. Gordon was a member of the V.F.W. and a member of Our Saviours United Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth; two sons, William and John both of Ripon, WI; one daughter, Marie of Belmont, CA and one sister, Marion Backes of Mountain Home, AK.
Visitation for Gordon will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 1985, from 4 – 9:00 pm with a V.F.W. Service at 7:30 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home.
Funeral Service for Gordon will be held on Thursday, September 5, 1985, at 1:30 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home with Reverend James Mohr officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Ripon.
