Gordon Clark

Gordon R. Clark, age 59, of Ripon, died unexpectedly Tuesday, May 18, 1999, at Ripon Medical Center.

He was born September 10, 1939, in Deerfield, Waushara Co, a son to Rollin and Elsie (Klabunde) Clark. After his family moved to Ripon, he attended grade school at Prairie Lawn and Arcade, then Ripon High School and graduated from Markesan High School in 1957. He then served in the US Army from 1957-1960. Gordon had been involved in the banking business for 35 years, and retired in Nov. 1996, as Senior Vice-President at M&l Central State Bank, Ripon. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and was church treasurer for 26 years. He was Comptroller for the City of Ripon, member of the Ripon Business Association, past President of the Ripon Chamber of Commerce and for 25 years did the Salvation Army books.

He is survived by his mother, Elsie Clark of Ripon; 1 sister, Marjorie (Robert) Geiszler of San Andreas, CA; 1 brother, Jerry (Darlene) Clark of Markesan; special friend, Nancy Floyd of Berlin; 1 niece and 4 nephews; 3 grandnieces and 4 grandnephews; uncles and aunts. He was preceded in death by his father, Rollin Clark.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 20, 1999, from 4 until 9 PM at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon and again on Friday from 10 AM until the time of the service at the church. Funeral services will be Friday, May 21, 1999 at 11 AM at Grace Lutheran Church with the Rev. Paul Holte officiating, assisted by the Rev. Jonathan Stansfield. Interment will be in Garden of the Cross Cemetery, Ripon. Memorials in his name.

Gordie enjoyed his banking career, as well as his retirement. He was still helping people, and enjoying gardening, yard work, fishing and traveling. He also really enjoyed working on his car which he called his meditation time
