Gordon E. Liptow, age 40, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Monday, April 30, 1956, at Ripon Municipal Hospital.
Gordon was born October 21, 1915, in Ripon, WI, the son of Frank and Linda (Schultz) Liptow. He graduated from Ripon High School with the class of 1934. Gordon married Dorothy Weiss on June 20, 1948. He worked for Ripon Foods Inc. Gordon was a member of Evangelical Brethern Church and the V.F.W. Gordon served our country and was overseas in the European Theater of Operations from February 1944 to November 1945 with the coast Artillery Corps in five major battles, Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; one daughter, Barbara Lynn and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Liptow; one brother, Marvin and two sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Warnke and Mrs. Gladys Lee all of Ripon. He was preceded in death by one sister.
Friends may call on Wednesday, May 2, 1956, after 12:00 noon at Butzin Funeral Home in Ripon with a V.F.W. service at 8:00 pm.
Funeral Service for Gordon will be held on Thursday, May 3, 1956, at 2:00 pm at Evangelical United Brethren Church in Ripon with The Reverend C.A. Bender officiating. Interment will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Ripon.
