Grace L. Jones, age 93, of Parkview Care Center, Ripon, died Saturday, July 10,1999, at Mercy Medical Center, Oshkosh.
Grace was born on January 14, 1906, to William and Emma (Genge) Widlake in Green Lake, Wisconsin. She attended Green Lake High School, Milwaukee Normal College, and Marenello Beauty School of Chicago. She taught hairdressing and styling for 15 years. She also taught for Zotos Sales Affiliate in New York City for 3 years. Grace was an accomplished piano player and played for silent movies in Green Lake in the 1920’S. She was a member of the Ripon American Legion Auxiliary and St Peter’s Episcopal Church. Grace married John H. Jones, a pharmacist, in Chicago in 1948. He preceded her in death in 1978. She was also preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
Survivors include one brother, John and his wife Emily Widlake of Ripon, and four nephews; Frank Jones and William Jones of Chicago; Tom (Tammy) Widiake of Ripon; and Bill Widiake of Oshkosh.
Visitation will be Sunday, July 11,1999, at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon, from 5 to 7pm. Services will be held Monday, July 12,1999, at 10:00am. at St. Peters Episcopal Church, Ripon, with Father J.C. Robert Brown officiating. Internment will be at Dartford Cemetery, Green Lake.
Memorials may be given to St. Peters Episcopal Church.
