Grace S. Leu, 83, of 653 Hamburg St. Ripon, passed away on Friday, December 10, 2004, at Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh, as a result of complications after surgery.
Grace was born in Ripon, on September 15, 1921, the daughter of Howard and Myrtle (Parmalee) Steineke. Grace graduated from Omro High school and on November 4, 1945 she married Arthur F. Leu in Ripon. She worked as a secretary at Speed Queen in Ripon until her retirement. She lived in Ripon her entire adult life and was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and the Ripon Lioness Club. Grace was well know in the Ripon community.
Survivors include her children; Michael (Fran) Leu of Santa Barbara, CA, Linda (DuWayne) Pischke of Green Lake, Larry Leu of Ripon; grandchildren; Christopher (Kelly) Leu of Milwaukee, Carrie (Jon) Martinez of Princeton, Lisa (David) Peters of Clive, IA, David (Julie) Pischke of Green Lake, Brian (Katie) Strock of Travis Air Force Base, CA, Jeremy Leu and Stephanie Leu both of Ripon, and 12 great grandchildren. One brother, Edward (Karen) Steineke of Neshkoro, one sister Ruth Krogh of Racine, WI, three brother in laws; Howard (Lillian) Leu of Ripon, Robert (Carol) Leu of Marshfield, Richard Overfield of Munice, IN, and sister in law, Nina (Gene) Zepp of Grass Valley, CA; many nieces and nephews, and her special friend, Jan Novitske of Ripon.
Grace was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Arthur, one brother in law, Harold Krogh, and one sister in law, Joyce Overfield.
Funeral services for Grace will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 14, 2004 at Grace Lutheran Church in Ripon with Pastor Sandra Krynik officiating. Friends may call on Monday, December 13, 2004 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon, and again at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Ripon. A memorial has been established in her name.
