Grace E. Schattschneider, age 93, of Ripon, WI, passed away Sunday, August 16, 2015, at Ripon Medical Center.
Grace was born January 1, 1922, in Horicon, WI, the daughter of Frank and Edna (Zamzow) Zech. She graduated from Ripon High School in 1940 and had just attended her 75th reunion. After high school, in 1942, Grace married Albert Schattschneider. Grace worked at Ripon Foods for 40 years until her retirement. Grace, Albert and her girlfriends enjoyed weekends on the dance floor dancing to polka music.
Survivors include her son Michael (Marty) Schattschneider of Markesan, WI; grandsons, Christoph ( friend, Tami Moffat-Keenlance) Schattschneider of Ripon, WI, and Benjamin ( fiancée, Amiee Sindberg-Melero) Schattschneider of Oconomowoc, WI; great grandchildren, Dylan Schattschneider of Ripon, WI, and Owen and Olivia Schattschneider of Oconomowoc, WI, and her sister, Ruby Vollbrecht of Ripon, WI. Along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Grace is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Albert Schattschneider; brother, David Zech and his wife Joyce; sisters, Vera Wepner and her husband John and Edythe Schattschneider and her husband Glen Schattschneider, and brother-in-law, Walter Vollbrecht.
Visitation for Grace E. Schattschneider will be held on Thursday, August 20, 2015, from 4 - 6:00p.m. at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971. A memorial is being established.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the caring staff members at Maplecrest and Ripon Medical Center for all of their assistance and attention to Grace.
