Grace Thomann, age 99, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Friday, April 25, 1986, at Parkview Nursing Home in Ripon.
Grace was born April 25, 1887, in Marshalltown, Iowa. On June 30, 1915, she married Frederick A. Thomann and she worked as a housewife. Grace was a member of the Abigail Adams Chapter, D.A.R. in Des Moines, International Order of King’s Daughter the Iowa Branch, a life member of the Order of the Eastern Star in East Moline, IL, First Congregational Church in Ripon and a long-time member of the First Presbyterian Church at East Moline, IL.
Survivors include two sons, Don of Ripon and Robert of Webster Groves, Missouri; one daughter, Elizabeth Ann Smith of Quincy, Illinois; two sisters, Anna Hewitt of Amboy, IL and Ruth Spight of Fresno, CA and 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick on May 11, 1956.
Graveside Service for Grace will be held on Wednesday, April 30, 1986, at 3:00 pm at Moline Memorial Park in Moline, IL with Reverend James F. Patterson officiating. Memorials may be given to the Congregational Church of Ripon or the First Presbyterian Church in East Moline.
