Gwendolyn Mae Fisher Pahl, age 91, of Green Lake, WI, passed away on Sunday, September 28, 2014, at Harbor Haven Health and Rehab in Fond du Lac.
Gwendolyn was born December 11, 1922, to Hazen and Luella (Philbrick) Fisher in the Town of Green Lake, Green Lake County. She was baptized, confirmed and continued to be a lifelong member of St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church in Markesan.
She graduated from Ripon High School. Gwendolyn married Erwin Pahl on May 23, 1942 in St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church by Pastor Kobs and has been married for 54 years. They were blessed with one daughter, Kathleen Egbert and two grandsons, Charles (Jill) and Nicholas and two great-granddaughters, Lauren and Ava Egbert. She held various offices in 4-H, leader assistant, ladies aid, Green Lake County Homemakers Club, Sunday School Teacher, also worked for the Chucks Market and Lockers, Markesan District School in the Food and Nutrition Program. Gwendolyn also volunteered at the Thrift and Pantry Store in Ripon and took church tapes on Sunday to the shut in people.
Survivors include her daughter, Kathleen Egbert and her grandsons, Charles (Jill) and Nicholas Egbert; great-granddaughters, Lauren and Ava Egbert all of Green Lake, WI; one sister, Annagene Priske of Ripon, WI. Gwendolyn is also survived by her loving nieces and nephews as well as many dear friends. Gwendolyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Erwin on August 4, 1996; brother, James Fisher; sister, Betty Lou Bradley; brothers-in-law, Lyle Priske and Gorden Bradley and sister-in-law, Violet Fisher.
Visitation for Gwendolyn will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 2014, from 9 11:00 am at St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church, 93 West Catherine St., Markesan, WI 53946.
Funeral service for Gwendolyn will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 2014, at 11:00 am at St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church in Markesan. Pastor Jason Jobs will officiate. Interment will follow at Green Lake Center Cemetery in the Town of Green Lake. A memorial is being established in her name. Lunch will follow after interment at the church.
