Harley W. Weisnicht, 80, of Brandon, passed away on Thursday, July 10, 2008, at Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac.
Harley was born in the Town of Alto on June 16, 1928, the son of Walter and Harriet (Redeker) Weisnicht. He attended Brandon High School and went onto work as an Ice Man, the Borden Milk Co. for 28 years, Harleys Grocery in Brandon for 5 years, Mercury Marine in Fond du Lac for 22 years as a Furnace operator for the Foundry Dept., and also worked part-time for Jungs Nursery in Randolph for 5 years. On September 23, 1950, he married Joan Fenner at the EUB Church in Ripon. Harley served his country in the US Army, 2nd Armored Division from 1950-1952, during the Korean War and was stationed in Germany. He was a charter member of Bethel Reformed Church in Brandon, the Brandon Fire Dept. for 30 years, Mattox-Henslen American Legion Post #378 for 50 years. He loved gardening, he was proud of all his peonies, and other flower beds. He loved his family and grandsons. Harley will be deeply missed by his wife, family and many friends.
Survivors include his wife, Joan of Brandon, two daughters, Holly Zimmerman of Brandon and Jan (Peter) Jensen of Hudson, WI; son, Todd (Cathy) Weisnicht of VanDyne, WI; grandchildren, Jamie (fiancé, Kristy Leichtfuss) Vermeer of Fond du Lac, Dana and Andrew Weisnicht of VanDyne, WI; brother, Lloyd (Rita) Weisnicht of Brandon and sister, Ann (Bill) VandeZande of Fond du Lac. He is preceded in death by his father, Walter Weisnicht, mother, Harriet Weisnicht, father-in-law, Arden Fenner and mother-in-law, Jessie Fenner.
Visitation for Harley Weisnicht will be held on Sunday, July 13, 2008 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon and again on Monday, July 14, 2008 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Bethel Reformed Church in Brandon, WI.
Funeral Service for Harley Weisnicht will be held on Monday, July 14, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Bethel Reformed Church in Brandon with Reverend Howard Vande Guchte officiating. Interment will be held in Brandon Cemetery, Brandon. A memorial has been established.
