Harold Louis Leitz

Harold “Harry” Louis Leitz, age 77, of Oshkosh, WI, passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2025, surrounded by his family at home, after a short illness.

Harry was born in Ripon, WI, on February 20, 1948, son of Herman and Elaine (Schultz) Leitz. He attended Ripon High School where he was involved in wrestling. In his younger years, he was lead vocalist in a band. Shortly after graduation he moved to Oshkosh. Harry spent many years working at The Oshkosh Northwestern as a distribution manager. Music remained a big part of his life and he especially loved Roy Orbison and George Jones. Swimming was his favorite summer activity. Harry enjoyed watching sports, especially the Packers and attending his younger grandchildren's sports games.

Harry is survived by his children; Matt, Megan, and Angela Leitz; grandchildren, Dominick, Dakota, Emma, Jaida, Kyah, Jakobe “Jack”, and Jordyn “Ellie May”; his twin brother, Herm (Sue) Leitz; step-sons, Mark and Sal Lynch; close friends, LaMont “Monty” Parish and Richard “Ric” Webb; mothers of his children, Jenny Gruse and Mary (Scudiero) Kline; and nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Elaine Leitz; and his girlfriend, Wanda Samples.

Visitation for Harry will be held on Friday, April 11, 2025 from 3:30 until 5:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971.

A funeral service will be held at 5:00 pm on Friday, April 11, 2025 at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon, with Rev. Karin Derenne officiating. A private family entombment will take place in the Leitz family mausoleum at Liberty Prairie, in Pickett, WI. A memorial is being established in his name.
