Harold Harry Aloy Sabel, age 87, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Monday, June 1, 2015, peacefully at his home in Ripon.
Harry was born January 29, 1928, in Fond du Lac, WI, the son of Ben and Marcalla (Guelig) Sabel. He attended school and went on to serve our country in the United States Army from 1951 to 1952. In 1954, Harold married Ardis Irene Schueler in Waupun. He worked as a machinist at Speed Queen for 35 years in Ripon. Harry also worked for Napa Auto Parts for 21 years. He was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Ripon, Knights of Columbus, VFW Post 5278 and the Markesan Kiwanis Club. Harold was on the Board of Directors for Golden Rule Community Credit Union for 53 years.
Survivors include his wife, Ardis Sabel of Ripon, WI; four children, Gary (Sandy) Sabel of Upper Marlboro, MD, Mark (Chris) Sabel of Ripon, WI and their children, Emily (William) McGuire of Buckley, WA and Nicholas Sabel of Fond du Lac, WI; Lynn Sabel of New Berlin, WI and his son, Zachary Sabel of Pewaukee, WI and LuAnn (Dave) Odegard of Franklin, WI and their daughter, Nicole Odegard of Franklin, WI and granddaughter, Tica Paraday of Oak Park, MI; two sisters, Marie (Lawrence) Kraus of St. Peter, WI and Agnes Perry of Rosendale, WI; two brothers, Gordon (Inez) Sabel of Ripon, WI and Donald (Lois) Sabel of Fond du Lac, WI and three sisters-in-law, Nora Sabel and Myrtle Sabel both of Fond du Lac, WI and Elaine Seeliger of Markesan, WI and four brothers-in-law, Jerry Langenfeld of Eldorado, WI, Leland Schueler of Princeton, WI, Edward (Bernice) Schueler and Merlyn (Carol) Schueler both of Waupun, WI. Harold was further survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Marcella Sabel; his son, Sgt. Timothy D. Sabel, mother and father-in-law, Albert and Dorothy Schueler; sister, Gladys Langenfeld; four brothers, Gilbert, Charles, Oscar and Richard Sabel; three brothers-in-law, Donald Perry, Walter Seeliger and Wilbur Schueler; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Sabel, Lorna Schueler and Verona Schueler; one nephew, Douglas Schueler and niece, Sharon Wilhelms.
Visitation for Harold will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2015, from 4 7:00 pm with a Prayer Service following at 7:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971 and again on Friday, June 5, 2015, from 10 11:00 am at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 218 Blossom St., Ripon, WI 54971.
Mass of Christian Burial for Harold will be held on Friday, June 5, 2015, at 11:00 am at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Ripon. Reverend Robert A. Fictum and Father John Schmitz will officiate. Interment will follow at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery in the Town of Ripon. Memorials may be directed to St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 218 Blossom St., Ripon, WI 54971.
