Harold Smith

September 26, 1926 — April 5, 2003

Harold “Harry” Smith Jr. age 76, of Markesan, passed away Saturday, April 5, 2003 at Ripon Medical Center.

Harry was born September 26, 1926 in Chicago, IL, a son to Josephine (Zonsius) and Harold P. Smith Sr. He graduated from St. George High School in Evanston, IL and on October 18, 1947 married Rosemary Lamich in Park Ridge, IL. Harry was a Typographer who owned and operated Smith Typesetting Co., Chicago, IL. He retired in 1989, moving to Green Lake, WI. where he owned and operated Swanee Acres Driving Range, Princeton. Harry served his country in the Air Force and was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, Green Lake.

Survivors include his wife, Rosemary. Children; Dennis (Beth) Smith, Mike (Lynn) Smith, Tom (Claudia) Smith, Jim Smith, Joe Smith, Pat (Liz) Smith, Jeff (Nancy) Smith, Steve (Donna) Smith, Sue (Mike) Fristrom, Tim (Christine) Smith, Mark (Debbie) Smith and Sandi (Mike) Jordan. Grandchildren; Tim, Sarah Beth, Becky, Kathryn, Jason, Kelly, Richard, Stephanie, Sarah, Lee, Eddie, Jeffrey, Brandon, Nick, Chloe, Madison, Hanne, Michael, Michele, Sam and Joe. He is also survived by one brother, Donald (Joan) Smith; One sister-in-law, Rosemary Smith and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Edward and one grandson, Scotty.

Visitation will be Sunday, April 6, 2003 from 4:00-7:00 p.m., with a Prayer Service at 4:00 p.m. at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon. A Mass of Christian Burial service will be 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 7, 2003 with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, City of Green Lake. Father Philip Krogman will be officiating. Interment will be at Dartford Cemetery, Green Lake. A memorial has been established.
