Harold Wittchow

June 10, 1921 — March 25, 2012

Harold Wm Wittchow, age 90, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Sunday, March 25, 2012, at Michalene’s in Ripon.

Harold was born on June 10, 1921, in Ripon, the son of William Frederick and Emma (Wheler) Wittchow. He graduated from Ripon High School. Harold served our country as an Air Force Pilot 1st Lieutenant and flew a B-17 airplane. He was a farmer and he also worked at Speed Queen as a machinist from February 25, 1946 to January 9, 1987. In 1942, Harold married Doris Walker in Green Lake. He was a Charter member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Ripon. Harold was a member of the Messiah Men’s Club, Messiah Dartball and held many positions at the church. Harold was also a lifetime member of the VFW.

Survivors include his wife, Doris of Ripon; children, Judy Hanrahan of Bradenton, Florida, Linda (Jack) Duff of Beloit, WI and Randy (LaVerne) Wittchow of Ripon, WI; twelve grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Harold was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation for Harold Wittchow will be held on Tuesday, March 27, 2012, from 10 – 11:00 am at Messiah Lutheran Church, 500 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971.

Memorial service for Harold Wittchow will be held on Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at 11:00 am at Messiah Lutheran Church, 500 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971. Reverend Bryan Fritsch will officiate. Inurnment will follow at Bethel Reeds Corners Cemetery in the Town of Metomen with Full Military Honors. A memorial is being established.
