Harriet Ruth Hilke, age 93, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Friday, April 4, 2014, at Prairie Place in Ripon, with her loving family by her side.
Harriet was born January 5, 1921, in Markesan, the daughter of Merwin and Josephine (Lichtenberg) Kimble. She graduated from Ripon High School. On May 1, 1946, she married Elmer L. Hilke at Peace Lutheran Church in Green Lake. Harriet worked as the head cook at Ripon High School for 20 years. She was a member of Homemakers and Immanuel United Methodist Church in Ripon.
Survivors include her children: Richard (Kathleen) Hilke, Ripon, WI, Susan (Mark) Thompson, Ripon, WI, Dale (Holly) Hilke, Berlin, WI; one sister, Lois Quick, Fulton, MO; one brother, Kenneth (Karren) Kimble, Markesan, WI; grandchildren: Teri Hilke, Deana (Michael) Schweitzer, Monica Hilke (friend Lance Rands), Sara (Brian) Mateske, Brenda (John) Hollatz, Denise Calo, Amy (Eric) Kivela, Peggy (Erik) Coehoorn, Jason Hilke, Justin Hilke, Collin (Natasha) Hilke, Courtney (Nicole) Hilke, Caleb Hilke, Conrad Hilke (friend Bailey); step-granddaughters: Carrie (Jay) Dix, and Connie Thompson; 25 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Hilke; son, Gerald Hilke; her parents; two brothers: Maurice Kimble and Roger Kimble; two sisters: Shirley Wetzel, and Beverly Brey; two sisters-in-law: Lorraine Kimble and Elaine Kimble; two brothers-in-law: Lyle Quick and Mike Wetzel.
Visitation for Harriet R. Hilke will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, from 4 – 7:00 p.m. at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Drive, Ripon, WI 54971 and again on Thursday, April 10, 2014, from 10 – 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel United Methodist Church, 401 W. Fond du Lac Street, Ripon, WI 54971.
Funeral Service for Harriet R. Hilke will be on Thursday, April 10, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel United Methodist Church, Ripon. Pastor Joshua Pegram will officiate. Interment will follow at Dartford Cemetery in Green Lake. A memorial is being established.
