Harry T. Hughes, age 69, of Ripon passed away early Sunday morning, February 12, 2006, at his home, after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born October 18, 1936 in Des Plaines, Illinois to Thomas and Agnes (Steffens) Hughes. Harry was educated in Berlin schools. On December 15, 1984 he married Marjo Brock in Berlin. He served four years in the National Guard. He worked at Chapmans Foundry, Green Giant, and retired in 2002 from Oshkosh Truck. After retiring from Oshkosh Truck, Harry worked part time at Vixmer Mfg. Harry was a member of the Silver Creek Sno-Odders, and loved to snowmobile, go camping, and watch NASCAR. For many years, Harry raced sport trucks at Kaukauna.
Survivors include his wife, Marjo; 3 daughters, Jackie (Les) Zimmerman, Berlin; Julie (Jeff) Trochinski, Neshkoro; and Rhonda (Jesse) Hollatz of Ripon; 2 sons, Keith (Jeanne) Brock, Mosinee; and Kevin (Jamie) Brock of Ripon; 10 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 1 brother, Mike Hughes, Omro; and 1 sister, Patricia (Carl) Retzlaff of Ocala, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 daughter, Jill; and 1 son, Randy.
Funeral services for Harry T. Hughes will be at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, February 15, 2006 at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon. The Rev. Bryan Fritsch will officiate. Friends may call Tuesday, February 14, from 4-7 P.M., and Wednesday, February 15, from 10 A.M. until time of services, at the Funeral Home. Interment will be at St. Michaels Cemetery in Berlin. A memorial has been established.
