Harry Thiel

Harry Thiel, age 88, formerly of Ripon, WI, died Sunday, January 11, 1998, at Parkview Care Center where he has resided the past few months.
He was born November 22, 1909, in Ripon, the son of Otto and Emelia (Koentopp) Thiel. He attended school in Ripon. On August 15, 1940, he married the former Grace Berlowski. After retiring from farming, Harry worked as a yardman at Paine Lumber in Oshkosh. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Ripon and had lived in the Ripon area most of his life.
He is survived by one son, Terry Thiel of Ripon; one sister, Mildred (Herbert) Thiem of Ripon; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Grace in 1994.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, January 14, 1998, at 11 am at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Ripon with Father John A. Schmitz officiating. Interment will be in St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery in the Town of Ripon.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 10 am until the time of the Mass at the church. A memorial has been established.
