Harry Walkowiak

Harry Walter Walkowiak, age 78, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2013, at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac with his family by his side.

Harry was born on February 10, 1935, in the Town of Alto, WI, the son of Richard and Marie (Rasch) Walkowiak. He graduated from Ripon High School and served our country in the National Guard. On July 2, 1955, Harry married Marlene Rudolph at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ripon where he was a member. He was employed with Speed Queen for over 40 years. Harry enjoyed spending time at their cabin in Warrens. He liked to deer and turkey hunt there but most of all he treasured spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Marlene Walkowiak of Ripon, WI; daughter, Linda Ellis of Chetek, WI; son, Robert (Gayle) Walkowiak of Waunakee, WI; three grandchildren, Sarah (Daniel) Wollner, James Morgan and Demitre Ellis; two great-grandchildren, Alexander and Quinn Wollner; son-in-law, Reverend Tom Morgan of Ripon, WI; sister-in-law, Leona Dahlke and four brothers-in-law, Gary, Carleton, Harvey and Norman Rudolph. Harry was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Susan Morgan and an infant sister.

Visitation for Harry will be held on Monday, April 22, 2013, from 4 – 7:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971 and again on Tuesday, April 23, 2013, from 10 – 11:00 am at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 430 W. Griswold St., Ripon, WI 54971.

Funeral service for Harry will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at 11:00 am at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 430 W. Griswold St., Ripon, WI 54971. Reverend Clay R. Salmela will officiate. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Ripon. A memorial is being established in his name.
