Harve E. Leppin, age 78, of Fairwater, WI, passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2017, at Froedtert St. Josephs Hospital in West Bend, WI.
Harve was born December 20, 1938, in Pine River, WI, the son of Erich and Myrtle (Waldman) Leppin. He attended Berlin High School and went on to serve our country in the United States Marines Corp in March of 1957, serving his tour of duty in Hawaii. Harve was honorably discharged in March of 1963. On November 3, 1964, he married Arlene Schatzke in Poy Sippi, WI. He worked for Fairwater Chier Sand for over 20 years. He became an owner/operator, and later, drove local routes. In his spare time, Harve enjoyed his garden, canning his prized salsa, fishing, camping and of course his woodworking.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Arlene Leppin of Fairwater, WI; two daughters, Dawn Schmuhl of Waupun, WI and Dana (Reverend Bryan) Kittner of Coshocton, OH; son, Derick (Heather) Leppin of Cordova, TN; eight grandchildren, Amanda (Josh) Douma of Tampa, FL, Emily (Cory) Strahota of Markesan, WI, Elizabeth Kittner of Westerville, OH, Tyler Leppin of Cordova, TN, Carissa Schmuhl of Waupun, WI, Seth and Sarah Kittner both of Coshocton, OH and Ethan Leppin of Cordova, TN; one great-grandson, Gabriel Douma of Tampa, FL; five sisters, Rose Marie Jensen of Wild Rose, WI, Shirley Geoffroy of Pine River, WI, Nancy Thomas and Linda Jahns, both of Fond du Lac, WI and Kathy Chamberlin of Redgranite, WI and two sisters-in-law, Betty Leppin and Naomi Vanderhof both of Berlin, WI. Harve was preceded in death by his parents, Erich and Myrtle Leppin, three brothers, Ervin, Donald and Art Leppin and sister-in-law, Ginger Leppin.
Visitation for Harve will be held on Thursday, December 21, 2017, from 4 8:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971 and again on Friday, December 22, 2017, from 10 11:00 am at Zion Lutheran Church, 100 Church St., Fairwater, WI 53931.
Funeral Service for Harve will be held on Friday, December 22, 2017, at 11:00 am at Zion Lutheran Church in Fairwater with Pastor Bob Rosenberg officiating. Interment will follow at Fairwater Cemetery in the Village of Fairwater with Full Military Honors. A memorial is being established in his name.
Harve will be deeply missed by his family.
