Harvey O. Zellmer, age 86, of 504 Russell Dr. Ripon, passed away Saturday, October 29, 2005, at Ripon Medical Center. Earlier in the day, he fulfilled his wish to spend his last hours with several close relatives.
He was born October 22, 1919, in Princeton, WI, the son of Otto and Lena (Kohnke) Zellmer. Harvey was educated in Princeton. On November 12, 1946 he married June Warren. Harvey spent most of his life working in and around Rush Lake, Princeton and Ripon as a farmer. After retiring from the farm, he worked as a custodian at Pickard Commons on the campus of Ripon College. Harvey was a member of Grace Lutheran Church of Ripon and was active in the ushers club and mens club. He loved playing cards, visiting at the Pickett Community Center and going to dances.
Survivors include; a brother, Harold, of Princeton; cousins, Harley Ziemke and family of Fremont, and Walter Ziemke and family of Neenah; special friend, Ruth Gransee of Ripon; sisters-in-law, Jenny Warren of Ripon, Bernice Warren of Fond du Lac and Ola Laurea Warren of Waupun; several nieces and nephews and numerous friends. Harvey was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, June, in January 1996, his cousin, Gerry Fredrich, brothers and sisters-in-law, Neal and Dorothea Bradley, Art and Evelyn Kohnke, Don and Gladys OBrien, Ray, Butch and Bud Warren.
Visitation will be Monday, October 31, 2005, from 5-7 p.m. at the Butzin-Marchant funeral home, and again one hour before the funeral service. Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 1, 2005 at 11 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church Ripon with Rev. Alan F. Schaffmeyer officiating. Interment will be in Rosendale Cemetery, Village of Rosendale at 1:30 p.m. Memorials may be given to the church in his name.
