Her parents and five siblings, Clarence, Harry, Mildred, Gladys and Ralph preceded her in death. She was married to Russell H. Galster on August 4, 1926, in Detroit, where they lived until the late 60s when they moved to Florida. In 1978, they moved to Ripon/Green Lake area and she had lived on Mill St. since 1987. Her husband, Russell H. Galster died in 1994. Their only child, Russell George Galster, died June 22, 1993.
Hazel is survived by her daughter-in-law, Cynthia Galster of Green Lake and seven grandchildren, Diana-Winn Galster-Kinas and her husband, Paul of Green Lake, Evelyn Galster of Green Lake, Claiborne Galster of Spring Lake, MI, Brian (Susan) Galster of Wautoma, Steven (Adrianne) Galster of Washington D.C. and Bangkok, Thailand, Heidi-Ann (Richard) Scharlat of Arlington, VA and Donald (Laura) Galster of Sarasota, FL. Hazel was primarily a homemaker, but she went to work in 1955, at Sanders Confectionery in Detroit, until her retirement in 1969. She loved to bake and share her accomplishments with her family, friends and neighbors and, to go out for a little bite to eat. Her shy smile and fast gait made her a familiar figure as she took her walks each day up until a couple of years ago. Little Grandma was definitely a part of the lives of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
