Helen Maria Kloe, age 85, of Ripon, WI, died Saturday, February 23, 1997, at her home.

She was born February 11, 1912, in the Town of Brooklyn, Green Lake County, a daughter to Samuel and Lena (Puhl) Luchsinger. She attended Dakin School and graduated from Ripon High School in 1928. On December 4, 1937, she married Eric Kloe. He passed away on October 1, 1978. Helen was a lifelong member of Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon, the Women’s Guild and Altar Guild, and was church librarian for 23 years. She also volunteered at the Salvation Army Store and was a member of A.A.R.P. Helen’s hobbies were gardening at the brother’s farm, playing cards, baking, quilting and needlework. She had lived in Racine and the Ripon area all of her life.

She is survived by one brother, Fred Luchsinger of Ripon; one nephew, Dale (Arlene) Luchsinger of Milwaukee; two nieces, Marian (Marcel) Mildebrandt of Ripon and Carol (Robert) Kuphal of Batavia, IL; grandnieces, Caroline Luchsinger of Bloomington, IN and Gail Kuphal of Batavia, IL; and grandnephews, Kevin (Melody) Kuphal of Aurora, IL and Aaron and Paul Mildebrandt, both of Ripon. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Funeral services will be Thursday, February 27, 1997, at 2 pm at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon with Reverend James D. Mohr officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ripon.

Visitation will be Thursday from noon until the time of the service at the church. A memorial has been established in her name for the Sunburst Youth Home in Neillsville, WI.
