Helen Steifner

January 20, 1922 — November 22, 2001

Helen M. Steifner, 79, of Ripon, WI, passed away Thursday evening, November 22, 2001, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton.

Helen was born on January 20, 1922, in Ripon, the daughter of Frank and Elsie (Lehman) Pollack. She graduated from Ripon High School and was a homemaker as well as worked for Realist in Berlin. On October 17, 1942, she married Arthur Richard Steifner. They made their home in Ripon. Helen was a member of Immanuel United Methodist church of Ripon and was a former member of the Women’s Circle of the church; she was also a volunteer at Russell Manor in the dining area for many years.

Survivors include her five children, Darlene (Andy) Witkowski of Ripon, Donna (Michael) Levenhagen of Ripon, David (Jackie) Steifner of Ripon, Dennis (Denise) Steifner of Ripon, Diane (Duane) Schmid of Campbellsport, and one grandson, Jeffrey Levenhagen, of Madison. She is also survived by four sisters, Elnora Manske of Ripon, Marion (Lester) Berger of Ripon, Loraine Cleary of Green Bay and La Verne Guerts of De Pere also one sister-in-law, Alice Pollack of Ripon and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Arthur on May 14, 1954, on sister, and two brothers.

Services for Helen will be held on Monday, November 26, 2001, at 11:00 am at Immanuel United Methodist Church in Ripon with Reverend David A. Busker officiating. Friends may call on Monday at the church from 9:00 am until the time of the service. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ripon. Memorials may be directed to Immanuel United Methodist Church in Ripon.
