Henry Slife

Henry J. Slife, age 80, of the Town of Utica, WI, died Tuesday, July 11, 2000, at Parkview Care Center in Ripon.
He was born October 13, 1919, in Green Lake, a son to Reinhold and Ella L. (Klingbeil) Slife. On April 19, 1941, he married Erma M. Schubert at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Richford. Henry had been a machinist/welder at Rockwell International in Oshkosh for 34 years. Mr. Slife was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Pickett for 27 years. He was a member of Sturgeons for Tomorrow, and Upper Lakes Fishing Club. Henry played accordion for 60 years, and ran an old-time polka band for 50 years. This was his favorite past time, and he only played by ear, he never read music.
He is survived by his wife, Erma; daughter, Deanna (Richard) Bradley of Pickett; grandson, Jeffrey (Kim) Bradley of Birmingham, AL; granddaughter, Stacey Bradley (fiance, Kevin Kasten) of Brandon; great-grandchildren, Alex and Emily Bradley, and Kristian Kasten; brother, Albert (Betty) Slife; and sister-in-law, Vicky Slife. His parents brother, Lawrence Slife preceded him in death.
Funeral service for Henry J. Slife will be 10:30 am Friday, July 14, 2000, at Grace Lutheran Church in Pickett, with Reverend Russell W. Kloehn officiating.
Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 7:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon and again on Friday, from 9:30 am until the time of the service at the church. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery in Oshkosh. Memorial gifts will be given to Grace Lutheran Church Handicap Fund.
