Herbert Goeden

Herbert Peter Goeden, age 87, passed away Tuesday, September 7, 1993, at his home in the Town of Rosendale.

He was born on December 18, 1905, in West Bend, WI, the son of John and Josephine (Schnepf) Goeden. He was educated in Milwaukee and Ripon. On August 15, 1937, he married Norma Weiss. Mr. Goeden was a farmer, and he and his wife resided in the Ripon area all of their married life. Herb was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church of Ripon, where he was a Sunday School Teacher for many years and was a member of the Men’s Club of the church. Mr. Goeden was assessor for the Township of Rosendale for over 40 years.

In addition to his wife, Norma, he is survived by three sons, Donald Goeden of Indianapolis, IN, Ronald (Rita) Goeden and Howards (Jackie) Goeden, both of Ripon; one daughter, Noreen (Ron) Liptow of Ripon; one sister, Nellie Romano of Milwaukee; ten grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two great-step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one great-granddaughter, one brother and one sister.

Funeral services for Herbert Goeden will be held Friday, September 10, 1993, at 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel United Methodist Church, Ripon. The Reverend Howard Ott will officiate. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ripon. The family will receive friends Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon. A memorial has been established in his name.
