Herbert C. Pohlmann, age 70, of Ripon, WI passed away on Saturday, October 4, 1986 at Ripon Memorial Hospital.
Herbert was born on October 2, 1916 in Clarion, Iowa, the son of Arthur and Lucille (Pyle) Pohlmann. He graduated from University of Iowa Law School in 1941. On September 22, 1941 he married Jane Levine. He was an attorney in Iowa, and has lived in his Green Lake summer home for the last six years. Herbert was a member of IL, IA and NY Bar Association; a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity and Phi Delta Phi Legal Fraternity; he served in the Department of Justice in the FBI from 1941-1951; was a Corporation Attorney for International Packers Ltd of Chicago and Wetch Food Co. of Westfield, NY; was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Naples, FL and First Congregational Church of Ripon; and was active in community affairs in Downers Grove, IL and Naples, FL.
Herbert is survived by his wife, Jane; two sons, Bert Pohlmann of Naples, FL and Peter Pohlmann of Bettendorf, IA; a daughter, Mary Jane Stemple of Crete, IL; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Lucille Pohlmann.
A memorial service for Herbert will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, October 8, 1986 at the First Congregational Church in Ripon, with Reverend Allan Martling officiating. Memorials may be directed to the Building Fund of University of Iowa Law School in Iowa City.
