Herbert Weiss, 79, of Green Lake, passed away on March 20, 2000, at his home.
Born on February 25, 1921, in Chicago, IL, to Matthew and Anna Weiss. He graudated from High School in Chicago. Herbert was in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years and retired as a Master Sergeant in 1962. While in the Air Force he attended the Army Intelligence School and the Army Engineer School in Virginia, the Aeronautical School in St. Louis, and the USAF Academy in Louisiana. After retiring from the Air Force, Herbert worked for Forest Monument as a monument cutter. In 1974 he married Violet Harpham in Chicago, and the made their home in Green Lake. He was a member of the Green Lake Willis-Chapel American Legion Post #306.
Survivors include his wife, Violet Weiss of Green Lake; one daughter, Barbara Kozlowski of East Dundee, IL; one sister, Lillian Wickstrom of Oak Lawn, IL; one sister-in-law, Dorothy Weiss of Oak lawn, IL; nieces and nephews, a great niece and great nephew. Herbert was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Fred Weiss; and one sister, Gert McCarthy.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, March 24, 2000, at 10:30 am at the Butzin-Marchant funeral Home with Pastor David Busker officiating. Friends may call on Friday from 9:00 am until the time of the service. Burial will follow in the Dartford Cemetery, Green Lake.
