Herbert A. Werch, age 78, of W12558 Willow Rd, Town of Ripon, died Friday morning, June 14, 2002, at Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh.
He was born June 6, 1924, on the Marsh farm in the Township of Eureka, a son to Adolph and Julia (Gitzel) Werch. He received his education in Winnebago County. Herb served for 3 years in the U.S. Army in England during World War II from 1943-46. Herb had worked at Speed Queen for 42 years. When he retired in 1988, he was Production Manager of the Wisconsin Plants (Ripon, Wautoma & Omro). After the death of his first wife, Eldora Baker in 1984, he married Verona Feder in 1985. Mr. Werch was a member of the Ripon Assembly of God Church and served on the Building Committee. Herbs favorite hobbies were hunting, fishing, and gardening. He also enjoyed relaxing at his cabin in Northern Wisconsin.
He is survived by his wife, Verona; 1 son, Bill Werch of Vancouver, WA; 3 brothers, Charles Werch, Art (Camille) Werch and Richard (Irene) Werch; 4 sisters, Elma Grota, Elizabeth (Frank) Martin, Helen Reilly, and Lois (Leo) Wiesman, also numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, 2 sisters, Ardene Kotloski and Ruth Feuerherm; and 5 step-sisters, Amelia, Anne, Elsie, Esther and Olga; and 2 step-brothers, John and Ed.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, June 19, 2002, at 11 a.m. at the Ripon Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Donald Deike officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon, and again on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Interment will be in Nepeuskun Cemetery, Town of Nepeuskun. A Memorial has been established.
